Looking to reduce weight? Never skip a good night sleep Several studies have demonstrated that a good night sleep helps in the treatment of obesity.
According to researchers from Yale School of Medicine, a possible link between lack of sleep (insomnia) and obesity has been traced to hypocretin/orexin cells in the hypothalamus region of the brain that are easily excited and sensitive to stress. If over-activated by environmental or mental stress in daily situations, these neurons may support sustained arousal, triggering sleeplessness, leading to overeating and obesity.
You might try tea at night, caffeine-free of course. Examples are: Chamomile or Passion flower (Passiflora incarnate). Passion flower constituents include harmine. Harmine was originally known as telepathine because of its peculiar ability to induce a contemplative state and mild euphoria. It was later used by the Germans in World War II as “truth serum.”
