How do I  join the coalition?  We are excited to work with anyone who wants to positively affect the health and wellness of the community. For information contact  Sybil John the Health Educator at the Health Department at 252-2594 sybil_john@doh.state.fl.us to find out how to join the coalition and how you can make our community a healthier place.

How often do you meet? Once a month. The first Thursday of the month at 9:00 am at the North Naples Collier Government Center located behind the Headquarters Library on Orange Blossom Road.

What are the main things you are working on? Each member sponsors a monthly activity called an Active Living Workshop. These are generally free events designed to increase resources for active living and healthy eating. All coalition members support the event by advertising it to partners, attending the event, or providing resources.

Each member provides information for the community calendar.

A subcommittee focusing on education is working on increasing awareness and compliance of the school wellness policy.

What are the duties/roles of members of the coalition?

  • Attend meetings when available
  • Read and comment on minutes
  • Review website periodically
  • Participate in speakers bureau where appropriate
  • Network and stay informed about other members and their programs
  • Provide announcements and news to chair for distribution to members
  • Direct public to website
